At the very beginning of the race, Lando Norris locked up going into the first corner, leaving drivers with different thoughts. Oscar thought Lando had crashed, which he stated in the cooldown room after the race, and presumably, it made Charles feel he had a chance at overtaking Lando.

Bortoleto was into the wall on lap one, believing Kimi pushed him off track into the wall, but no further action came from that. His crash brought out the safety car.

Lap Nine: Gasly crashed into the back of Tsunoda, ripping a wheel off. He drove back into the pits, which was questioned by commentators because the required procedure is to immediately stop the car. However, as we watched Gasly roll into the pit, we witnessed the pit crew having to stop the car, and we learned he was unable to stop the car himself.

Racing Bulls playing sacrifice as Liam Lawson holds the pack up so that Hadjar is able to take a pit stop without losing any positions.

Fernando Alonso retires on lap 38 due to smoke being seen.

Russell refuses to give Albon a position back, instead opting for a penalty as he believes Albon is driving "erratically." For that, he received a 20-second penalty.
